Apologies for the awful title, I do love a good pun 🙂
The head to toe white look is a massive trend this summer. Actually it is one trend that I have been avoiding up until now. The clean minimalistic look isn’t one that I usually go for. However, when my new white platforms arrived I just couldn’t help but put together a white outfit to really show them off.
Vest – H&M // Skort – Ebay // Shoes – YRU via Nasty Gal // Rings – Bella Sorella and Ebay // Necklace – Market in Tunisia
The all white look can be very feminine which is fine but not really my style, which is why I was delighted to find this white vest in H&M. It has mesh skulls all over it and really helps to toughen up the outfit, and of course my shoes are pretty badass too! I wore this outfit out to have tapas with my boyfriend and my sister and I was surprised at how many looks I got from other people. I guess it just shows that white can be just as much of a statement as neons.
Later that evening I spilled patatas bravas all over my skort! I’m so clumsy!

In this heat wave when I’m not at work I am making the most of the sunshine. I’ve mostly been rocking bikinis with casual summer dresses or long T-shirts thrown over the top. I actually already blogged this dress here but I forgot to take photos of the back. The back of this dress is lovely and definitely deserving of its own blog post!
This weekend my baby sis and I took to the streets of Bristol to follow the ‘Gromit unleashed’ trail.
Gromit unleashed is a charity art exhibition, raising money for Bristol children’s hospital. I actually spent most of my childhood in the children’s hospital so it is a charity that is very close to my heart. The idea is that there are 80 Gromit sculptures dotted around the city for people to find. Each sculpture has been designed by a different artist/celebrity/public figure and after 10 weeks the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for the hospital. I love the idea behind it and it was so much fun finding Gromits. We only managed to find 8 before the heat got too much for us but we will try again next weekend.
After all the trekking around town we had worked up quite an appetite and so we stopped for a tasty lunch at mission burrito. Yum!
If you want to find out more about Gromit unleashed then click here There is also an app available where 40p of the cost will be donated to Bristol children’s hospital.
It was ridiculously hot so I kept my outfit really simple. I bought the dress from a market in Costa Rica a few years back. It’s great for just throwing over the top of my bikini. I jazzed it up with my H! by Henry Holland lips bag and my current fave necklace.

Please excuse the state of my hair, I’m trying to avoid bleaching it for as long as I can but my roots are starting to look pretty yucky!
How amazing is this heatwave we are having? I am loving the weather at the moment.
Friday evening I had a BBQ with my family and my boyfriend. It was really nice to have some family time as I have been working like crazy for the last month.

So I’ve found myself wearing every bloggers favourite skort. I usually try to avoid wearing the ‘it’ items simply because I really can’t stand it when I feel like I am dressed exactly the same as everyone else. I bought the skort ages ago and this is the first time I’ve worn it. It has been sitting in my closet because I actually feel weirdly guilty for following the crowd and buying a ‘must-have’ item. It kind of goes against the title of this blog right? But the problem is I do actually adore the skort and have been thinking about all the wonderful ways I can style it. To wear or not to wear that is the question that has been running through my mind for the last few weeks. Eventually I decided to just get over myself and wear it because I like it and who cares if everyone else has the same thing, I just want to wear what makes me happy.
I styled my skort with my amazeballs new top from Veuxdoo. The wolf design is crazy cool and makes any outfit look badass. My boyfriend actually picked out these earrings for me to wear. I made these about 6 or 7 years ago, from keychains purchased from the bathing ape store in Japan, I still think they are pretty cool.
This was my outfit from last Sunday. Please excuse the extreme lateness in posting it.
I was having one of those days where I felt like I had absolutely nothing to wear despite the fact that my double wardrobe is overflowing with clothes! I don’t know if it was the heat putting me in a bad mood or what but I just didn’t feel comfortable in anything. I think I changed my outfit about 10 times before I settled on this one.
It was so hot so all I wanted to wear was something cool and simple like shorts and a vest top, that shouldn’t be so difficult should it?! Well apparently it is! I don’t seem to own a vest top, how is that even possible? Surely vests are a wardrobe staple? I was also having a few body confidence issues so really wasn’t up for wearing a crop top or a dress.
In the end I opted for this pretty pink ensemble but its safe to say I was in a bit of mood after having spent an hour deciding what to wear.

Later my friend and I went to a raft race being held at a lake close to my home. It was really fun to watch and cheered me up a lot.
I think I definitely need to invest in a few more summer tops for my wardrobe.
It’s been another super busy week for me. In two weeks time I will be leaving my evening job which means I will be finished work by 3pm everyday. I’m so looking forward to having more time on my hands. At the moment I am working 7 days a week and 12 hour shifts for 5 of those, frankly I’m exhausted! Despite working long hours, the boyfriend and I managed to find the time to squeeze in two date nights this week! On Friday it was such a lovely evening so we went out for a drink in a beer garden.
I kept my outfit fairly casual. I wore this amazing Rip Curl top that I picked up in South Africa. It has such a wonderful laid back surf chick vibe about it. I wore it with my floral trousers and flower crown to create an alternative boho look (or at least that’s what I was aiming for!) I also wore my new spaniel necklace which went really well with the top.

It was really nice to chill out with my boy after a long hard week at work. I really needed that pint!!
It feels like I haven’t done an outfit post in ages. There are a couple of reasons for that, the main one being that I have had two bandaged fingers for almost two weeks. The bandages came off yesterday and my burns are looking a lot better (although I still don’t have feeling in my fingertips!) So I celebrated by taking some photos of me wearing a pretty dress.
I really love this dress. I received it as a gift for my birthday. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to wear it.
The print is obviously very loud and busy and I don’t think that it would be to everyones taste. However, I think it’s fab and really enjoyed wearing this dress. I would really like to wear day dresses more often and have been searching for the perfect one for a while. If you are a regular reader you probably know by now how much I adore bold prints and so I was instantly drawn to this bright dress.
The print features loads of different cartoon images mashed together into an all over collage. Some of the pics include puppies, shoes, lips and even the cookie monster! I spot something new every time I look at it. I love it when my clothes are fun and interesting.
Despite the crazyness of the dress I actually feel that it is very girly and pretty. I love the cut of the skirt. It’s not too long or short and I feel that it falls just right. The material feels divine and is really good quality for a £20 dress.

I kept my jewellery fairly simple. There was no need for statement pieces when the dress is a statement enough.
It was a lovely day yesterday so I went to visit my dad who has been in Texas for the last few weeks. It was nice to see him and we went for a walk around some of the pretty villages near to where my dad lives. I live really close to the city centre so it was really nice to escape the city for an afternoon.
Aren’t country villages the cutest?
